Mac Keyboard Touch ID Case with Battery is the starting point for your Apple Keyboard TouchID Button salvage project. If you read the article and watched the teardowns of the keyboard you know that the button can be used as a stand alone key opening your choice of keyboards for your Mac without losing TouchID functionality. Everything you need for a 3d printed case is here: Fusion 360 Source File, Step Files, STLs, and a 3MF printing suggestion. Please remix it so my TouchID button can be better and I can print yours.
Make sure you take extra care with salvaging the ribbon cables during your teardown, you will need them.
