This was measured and designed with a dbrand skin on my case and for the stock apple charging cable to go through the slot (other brand cables may have larger cable diameters or larger end, uh, aglets(..?) that connect the cable to the connector itself.
There are 3 files: the charging slot (pictured) so that you can plug in the case before slotting it in, one with only a hole in the bottom and no slot for those brave enough to stick the cable up first, and no holes at all for a clean look.
Sanding the back is recommended to give the adhesive a better grip on the plastic. Using a rough grit (I used 80) should be good.
