A beautiful clear lightbulb for your Christmas tree! Inspired by the Great Christmas Light Fight trophy, this ornament features a PVB filament bulb that was alcohol smoothed with a multicolored socket and filament.
The filaments and base use simple filament color swaps, and the center pillar used MMU, though color swaps should look good too. The “snow” inside was made by cutting white filament into a bazillion tiny pieces using nail clippers (wear goggles and put on a good movie). All parts were assembled using superglue.
The bulb requires experimentation to get perfectly clear, I ended up using vase mode .3 layers and manually slowing the print. I ended up just straight spraying isopropyl on the bulb and letting it dry to really smooth the layers. Test the fit into the base before smoothing since vase mode and layer height can change the base diameter.
