This is Version 3 of four pig prints as follows:

  • V1 : plain pig
  • V2 : piggy bank #1 with slot only
  • V3 : piggy bank #2 with slot and bottom opening
  • V4 : Matryoshka pig(s)

All versions use the same basic design, with some significant variations. Since there are so many different prints involved, with differing print requirements I thought it best to provide the prints as four separate entries.

This version has a "plug" (removable feet) to allow coins to be removed without breaking it open.

This piggy-bank version was initially printed at 50% scale (yellow in the photos) as a proof of concept; of course the slot on the 50% version is too small for most coins.

A full size version (brown in the photos) printed nicely, although it took about 10 hours.

The OnShape 3D CAD files for this are here:

Print instructions

Print in PLA using the 3mf file provided. Otherwise:

  • infill = 5% rectilinear
  • perimeters = 3
  • variable layer height (optional but recommended for the chin and top of the back)

As noted in the description I printed this at 50% scale. This version prints "feet down" with no problems, but does require supports under the chin. I used a support enforcer for this. I do not recommend using "support on build plate only" as I found the supports very difficult and time consuming to remove.
