I've made this dock a year ago when my Sofabaton X1 remote arrived.

The remote needs to be charged via USB C and I didn't want to leave a cable dangling on the dressoir where my tv is placed. So I designed a quick dock containing of 2 parts:

a base plate to make the dock to stand firmly on the surface and to hide the charging cable.

The dock itself.

Printing is fairly easy, I printed it on my cheap Anet A6 printer with a 0.4mm nozzle, 0.2mm layer height and about 10% infill with plain PLA 1.75mm.

To keep the USB C cable in place I used a bit of hotglue, the base and the dock are a tight fit and just need a firm push to lock in place.

In the beginning it can be a bit finicky to let the remote “land” on the USB connector.

To ensure the best possible allignment, what I did was to first push the USB connector all the way through the hole in the dock, connect the remote and push both the remote and connector back in the dock until the remote stands on the bottom of the dock. Then I applied the hotglue through the bottom of the dock.

It has been working for me this way since I've created it and still does.

Have fun printing this and leave me a message if you have any issues or if you want to show how it turned out for you.
