This tool enables you to easily bypass almost any shopping cart lock. No need to carry around those tokens you keep losing or hopelessly look around for a trolley shed which still has a locking plug just to get your coin back!
This design features an adjustable 23mm coin adapter and a special arm, which can be used to open the previously undefeated ‘drawer-style’ locks.
Printing instructions
PETG works best. Print 100% perimeters instead of infill. Generic settings for 0.4n and 0.2l work great, just increase the number of perimeters.
Push-style locks
Insert the larger end of the tool into the coin slot and the lock should immediately open.
If it does not, adjust the diameter of the coin adapter.
Drawer-style locks
Insert the tool into the lock alongside the drawer and close the drawer as far as it will go. It should make a click.
Hold the drawer closed and pull out the tool
Close the drawer completely
Misc
Testing has been done on locks like these or these in various stores in the Czech Republic. Euro coin locks have tested successfully as well. All parameters of this tool have been carefully selected to make it truly universal, hopefully worldwide.
Pro tip: the arm can be used to open some locks from the other side as well. Insert it at an angle and try to feel for a peg in the middle to push. There might be a ball bearing slightly in the way, which then drops down after you push the peg. However, you can find a much more convenient tool for this purpose over here.
