The glass dome broke on my Ropudden lamp from Ikea, so I decided to create a housing for it!

I was sick of staring at a bare lightbulb on a plain stand after the glass dome broke. This model is sized to fit directly onto a Ropudden lamp base from Ikea to emulate an old wrought iron lamp. While it could certainly be modified to hang from a ceiling bulb, that was not part of my design intention. If you do modify the base to fit with other lighting fixtures, I would love to see it!

There are only two distinct parts that are printed multiple times:

2x Base

6x Posts

1x Base and all posts can be printed simultaneously on a Prusa Mini, but I would recommend doing 1x Base and 3x Posts in order to fit a brim around the posts to keep them from warping.

Assembly of the cage requires no glue, just a friction fit, but any panes you print will most likely need glue unless you nail those tolerances for a friction fit.

Each pane window measures 61mm wide x 165mm tall x 3.5mm deep. The depth is just the flat parts of the post that face each other, there is a bit more wiggle room if you place the panes on the interior instead of right in between each post.

I printed a few lithopanes in order to make it a more decorative piece, but nothing says you can't do something else with it! I will most likely print a few more panes in clear for a sort of frosted glass look.
