Let me introduce the “PC-Engine Controller Plug Strain Reliefer”, a small friction-fit slide over model, which houses the PC-Engine Controller plug to reduce mechanical stresses due to gravity.
Took me 4 test prints with some back and forth fiddling in CAD to dial in the tolerances for a perfect fit, but I am very happy with the end result!
There are two variants of the model so far:
- Model with “arrow“ engraving on top surface inspired by the original controller plug design
- Model with no „arrow“ engraving
Printing instructions:
Recommended settings which I used and worked perfectly:
- Print orientation as shown in pictures showing renderings
- Layer height 0.2mm
- 20% infill (I used gyroid type)
- Maybe reduce printing speed due to lower footprint (I reduced speed to 20mm/s)
- Use a brim
Using these settings, printing took 2h15min on my printer.
