Description
I have a love hate relationship with books. I love the books but hate traditional bookends. Even the heavy ones can slide on you dumping your books. So I designed these booksends. They slip onto the shelf (19mm or ¾") and hold your books firmly and securely. When you remove a book (this is where most bookends fail) you simply slide the bookend to close the gap and no more book flop.
Printing
Print on large flat side
Filament - PLA
Infill - 10-15%
Layer Height - .25-.30mm
Supports - Not needed
Parimeters - 6 works well
Additional Parts - None
Bed Adhesion - You may want some glue stick to ensure good bed adhesion.
Rafts/Brims - You may want a brim if you have bed adhesion issues. If you use glue stick, you'll probably be fine
Scaling - This can be scaled up or down to fit your shelf size.
Filament Change - None
Post Printing Notes: You could glue some cork or other grippy material in the slide part, if your shelf is thinner than the model or you just want extra grippage. I have not found it necessary if you have a good shelf fit.
Happy Printing!
