This is the Diabolical Cube, a sort of 19th century precursor to the Soma Cube. Earliest known reference is an 1893 book by “Professor Hoffmann”. There are six polycube pieces composed of from two to seven small cubes, and you have to put them together to form a 3x3x3 cube. It's easier to find a solution than for the Soma Cube. There are 13 solutions in all (up to rotations and reflections); can you find them all? You can try for other figures too, but the W Wall is still impossible…

At 100% the cube is 75 mm on a side. (I printed mine at 66.7% for a 50 mm cube.) The base, unlike that of my Soma Cube model, seems to be fine without rescaling.

If you get bored with making cubes, there are some other shapes shown here you can try. These were originally created by various people for the Soma Cube; most Soma models aren't possible with the Diabolical Cube but these are.

I have a series of blog posts about the Diabolical Cube here: https://mathematrec.wordpress.com/2023/04/10/diabolical-cube/
