Update 2024-06-09: a new version is available!

The first big model I printed when I started out was an under-desk bin for the ALEX desk I use with my printer. I wanted a convenient way to get rid of the little debris produced by a 3D printer, such as skirts. I found and printed this design, which has served me well, but the design had a few flaws; I also wanted a version with rounded edges, which are harder to do in OpenSCAD, so I recreated the idea in Fusion. The gap under the arms is sized for the ALEX tabletop – 35mm depth.

Slicing tip: I had trouble with printing at the corners until I made sure that all the walls had a constant number of perimeters; the bottom wall angles were changed from 45° to 55° to make this possible. I also slowed the external perimeter print speed down to 100mm/s to avoid a racetrack effect.
