This snap shackle is good for light duty rigging and can be scaled up in size. 200% was a useful working size for me.
Materials:
- Printed parts
- Spring - The size depends on the width of the gate pin, the spring should slide onto the narrow side of the gate pin with little play.
- Wire/split ring for end of gate pin
Assembly:
- Slide the spring onto the narrow end of the gate pin.
- Insert the gate pin, narrow end first, into the hole in the snap shackle base.
- Put a wire through the small hole at the end of the gate pin once it comes out the other side to secure it.
- Attach the gate with the hinge pin.
Printing:
.20 mm
