It's a can for marshmallows (jumbo ones). You can find these scattered about in Outer Wilds. I created the model and label from scratch since the originals are low-res.
Printing:
The 3mf contains the entire can. The top and body are separate objects so you can put marshmallows in it. The top will need support around the lip.
Label:
The zip file contains both a 720 DPI PNG as well as the original Inkscape SVG I created. The label area of the can is 118mm tall and roughly 471mm in circumference. To get stuff to line up:
- Check the DPI in my printer settings (which was 720 for me, this will vary from printer to printer)
- Multiply your printer DPI by 4.6236 (obtained from the image height / original DPI → 3329 pixels / 720 pixels per inch = ~4.6236 inches). This is the height you need to scale the image to (assuming it isn't 720 DPI). If you need/want to print at higher than 720 DPI, you'll probably want to scale the original SVG up so it's lossless.
- If you have a photo printer, you may want to check the settings to see if there's color correction or similar. I recommend disabling those types of settings for this because they may change what actually comes out in unexpected ways.
- It's a good idea to do a small/cropped test print to verify the wrapper height is correct.
- Unless you have a large format printer, you'll need to split the label into two separate prints. I recommend cropping the main part of the label a bit outside the vertical bars—as wide as you can go and still fit on standard A4/8.5"x11" paper
- For the second part of the wrapper, just crop out a similarly wide section of the plain orange part of the image
- Print the two wrappers on sheets of printable vinyl sticker paper and cut them out
- Figure out what part of the can you want facing front if you plan on gluing the top on, then stick the orange label on the back. Try to smooth as you go to push out air bubbles.
- The main label then goes on the other side and should overlap. You can usually play with the alignment until the two stickers touch, then you probably won't be able to get it off without messing up the first sticker.
