V2 (updated design) is available - https://www.printables.com/model/553387-ft-ems-voron-v02-v2-electronics-management-system
INTRODUCTION
The frustration of using VHB tape mounted to a printed piece emulating a DIN rail with yet another printed mount for each of the electronics boards to be installed in the Voron V0.2 got me thinking of an echo-system to address this need.
THE DESIGN
The design consist of a hex cut out board mounted directly to the rear extrusions with 4 screws. The bolt-ons come into play after the board is installed. To do this, you will need to download and print the bolt-ons for the boards you intend to use. There is also a cable management module created to help manage wiring (especially the long stepper motor wires). There are 2 versions of the cable management lid depending if you intend to use the expansion board or not.
I have created a 2nd board that has the cable management bolt-ons in-built if you are planning to install the Cable Management Module. If you chose to use this then there is no need to print the Cable Management Mounts. The basic frame will still be downloadable for those that want to customise futher.
*** Its normal for the board bolt ons to be lose. Once you screw in the M2 self tapping screws the boards will be secured into place ***
Do let me know which boards you intend to use and the location where you would like them mounted and additional bolt-ons will be published.
BOM
This model will need to be printed on a bed capable of printing 210mmx120mm. The parts are recommended to be printed in ABS or ASA since the V0.2 is an enclosed printer and the chamber will get hot. All parts are oriented correctly to just slice and print. No supports are required.
Additional parts necessary are as follows: -
If using the 2 piece electronics mounting frame (printable on the V0 printer itself) then the following parts will be needed
- 2 x heatset inserts to attach to part 2-2.
- 2 x M3x6 BHCS screws to join the 2 pieces together
The rest of the below is required no matter which electronics mounting frame is used
- 4 x M3x12 BHCS screws to mount the frame
- 8 x M2 self tapping screws (4 per controller board assuming you are using a SKR Pico and Pi combination).
- 4 x heatset inserts for the cable management mounts
- 4 x M3x6 BHCS screws to mount the cable management duct
- 2 x heatsets for the cable management duct to attach the lid
- 2 x M3x6 BHCS screws to close the lid
- 2 x M2 self tapping screws to mount the expansion board (optional).
TIPS
I built my printer using the FromBot kit and had to make several adjustments. Take note of things to look out for: -
- The power/UART connector between the SKR Pico and BTT Pi is too short so I had to make a longer cable.
- The wires from the umbilical board to the SKR Pico are too short so you may need to make longer cables to overcome this.
- The Z end stop cable is extremely tight but will reach. I ended up just extending the wire to make the cable run look better.
- The power wire from the PSU to the SKR Pico was also too short. I have parts to make a new cable for this so that was the option I went for.
LEGEND
When printing the board bolt-ons take note of the print on the under side to correctly identify the part. Will add more as more boards are supported.
- Pico - BTT SKR Pico board
- B Pi - BTT Pi board
- R Pi - Raspberry Pi board
New style mounts have been designed. Please check the repository of all mounts that are currently supported. If you have a board that is not supported do reach out and request :)
If you like my designs and would like to contribute to fund filaments and other equipment required for prototyping, please do so at my paypal.me or Ko-fi. Your support is greatly appreciated :)

A big thank you to Robert Brown for chiming in with ideas and testing the prototypes before we landed on the final design.
CHANGE LOG
20-Aug-23
- NEW style mounts that are much easier to use have been created and published on the repository
1-June-23
- Added the split mounting frame that is now printable on the Voron V0 for those who do not have a bigger print bed.
20-May-23
- Created Rev 2 of the cable management duct and cover to allow for more clearance when using the expansion board. The new design uses 2 screws to secure rather than 4.
17-May-23
- Added board with pre-loaded cable management mounts and made it default.
- Added support for Raspberry Pi boards.
- Added print to distinguish between the SKR Pico and BTT Pi mounts.
