Details
I was not happy with the cases I found available for the BDN9, so I ventured to design my own. I went through quite a number of prototypes and finally settled on this. I wanted something that was easy to print, easy to assemble, and looked nice on my desk. The internal slots and posts make sure the case fits together correctly and helps to block any light that might try to bleed out from between the halves when assembled. All three locations on the top row are sized to allow for rotary encoders.

Suggestions
For the best results, you should use “supports on build plate only” while excluding supports from the bottom logo. If your printer is well calibrated this should print just fine without supports and will look better without them, at least in my opinion. The 3MF file is already setup for this.
I highly recommend that you print on either a textured or satin plate. I find that the texture added by these plates makes the finished print worthy of a place on your desk.
The examples shown in the pictures posted here were printed in Polymaker Carbon Fiber PLA. It prints great and has a very pleasing matte finish.
