The Voron 2.4 bottom panel, the cover of the electronics compartment, is connected with the main frame by 2 X 3D printed hinges.

( original voron part name /panel_mounting/bottom_panel_hinge_x2.stl )

However those hinges can only open half way (for about 120 degree ??),  and stay in mid air, not fully open.

We cannot let it open like that because the heavy weight of the panel can easily break the hinge because the torque is quite large…so we likely have to use one hand to hold the door like that, and have only one hand to work on other stuffs.  And I broke mine hinge when I have to use two hands to work inside the electronics parts, and the panel fell down in a very scary way.

The fix and solution is to make the hinge to be able to fully open, so the panel can fully flip over the printer main frame and stay downward, then there is no large torque applies to the hinge. It's safe for the panel and the hinge and us.

This is a print in place moving parts design ( just the same as the original voron 2.4 hinge)

1 To install, apply the tape to the hinge , align with the middle hinge body, it's designed to take the whole tape width( my tape's width from my seller anyway, I assume everyone has the same kind )

don't remove the tape protective film,

2 install the new hinge to printer frame, using the same M3 8mm screw in original design

if you cannot remove  the old hinge /tape from the panel, use a hot air gun( or hair dryer), lowest setting, only 100C should help you easily remove it. those glue cannot stay hot.

3 remove the new tape's protective file

4 flip the hinge on the panel to apply it

Print Settings:

no support.

40% infill

Petg tested and works, I assume ABS works the same.

4 vertical shell parameters (important because the hinge rely on the “rod” inside to support the weight of the panel)

5 top and bottom layers.

( the same as the standard voron print suggestion)
