This is a simple mount for fitting an Adafruit Neopixel 8-LED device on my quad.

It was designed to fit on the front and back of my H-quad multi-rotor, and the mounting holes are spaced to suit a couple of convenient screws. However, being designed using OpenSCAD, it can be modified to suit your own needs - the file is almost entirely parametrised.

The slots at each end will just allow a standard R/C servo connector through. If you plan to use an other sort of connector then you can either enlarge the slots, or wire them up before fixing the strips in place.

Instructions

This is a simple part that I have printed using both PLA and ABS (see note below) at 0.2mm layer thickness. Full support required, with a brim for ABS.

Modify the SCAD file if you need the mounting holes in different places.

I set the cut-out depth so that the front of the LED strip just sticks out - adjust the SCAD file if you want it set deeper.

Note: If you think that the LED strip may get very warm then ABS is probably the best material to use. On my multicopter they get a good amount of air over them, so stay relatively cool.
