A fast movable and collision-free version of the 4-revolute (4R) joints mechanisms, known as Bennett linkage.
You need to buy these additional parts for full assembly:
- 4x bearing of type 684 (4x9x4mm)
AND
- 4x M4x12 screw of type ISO 4762
- 4x M4 stop nut of type ISO 10511 (eventually ISO 7040)
- Be careful to not tighten the bolts too much - it might damage the (green) link which then touches the bearing outside of its inner part and curbs it as well.
OR
- 4x M4x10 screw of type ISO 4762
- 4x M4 nut
- 4x washer between the (green) link and bearing is suggested
- Be careful of size, I use washer M4x6 with thickness 0.5 mm which is not standard but can be found on Aliexpress. A standard M4 washer may be too big and curb the bearing.
The bearing shall fit and hold in the base's holes, but every 3D printer produces holes with different precision. I use 9.1 mm hole on Prusa MK3S. If your model does not fit, you can adjust the diameters and generate your own STLs using my models on Onshape:
