If you have some 64mm EDF and you don't know what to do with it, this thing is just for you.
WARNING!!!
With 1.5kg of thrust it can not only ignite a firewood for your barbecue faster, but even blow out some light wood. So please be careful and Safety First!
In general this is very simple device, just a housing for all the component with some inlet protection from hot particles that can damage EDF.
Parts list:
- 64mm EDF, example
- 50A ESC with BEC
- 3S lipo battery, I have some TATTU 1800mAh
- small servo tester, link
- about 15-20cm of some hook-and-loop fastener to hold battery
- 6x brass M3 inserts
- 10x M3 bolts
- some stainless net for inlet protection (I cannibalized some cheap kitchen thing, don't even know what it was for)
Printing tips:
Correct printing orientation for each part is shown on screenshot. Main body requires support. All other parts can be printed as they are.
I can't suggest what material to use, mine one is made out of clear ABS, just because it's the main plastic I'm using and it's cheap
Other notes:
To connect main body and battery housing you need 6 brass inserts, but for servo tester housing I bolted it directly into the plastic.
My battery is smaller than available space in the housing, it was made on purpose, because I wasn't sure which battery I'm gonna use, so you can model your own adapter if you have a different one. There is 29x43x120mm of space available.
