Last year this toy crossbow was designed out of popsicle sticks. This year with the new printer it was time to transfer to plastic. Only need to add a couple rubber bands, elastics, or latex tubing to complete the bow. The holes in the limbs are 1/8" so choose the tubing appropriately or increase the hole size.
We printed the bow out of PLA on a Mini+ as you can see from the gcode. Believe we had adhesion issues with the smaller part and used a brim, but you might not need it.
Included a picture from PrusaSlicer to show how it fits on the printer bed. After importing the stl file, rotate the crossbow 45deg and it will fit.
There are two stl files for different versions. At first, we didn't have the bumpers on the front of the bow. The projectile pusher would loop over and smack our fingers underneath holding the bow. So, we created a second version with bumpers to protect fingers. The bow without bumpers does have more versatility because it can shoot larger projectiles that don't fit all the way down in the bow (like nerf darts).
Hope you enjoy!
