A filter shaping tool made specifically for your xBloom specialty coffee machine reusable dripper. Perfectly shape KWF-155 filters and precisely apply just enough water to make filters hold their new shape. Filters can be formed directly in the xBloom reusable dripper OR in the provided filter press cup (and then transferred to the reusable dripper when ready to brew).

To use:

  • Place a dry KWF-155 filter between the shaping tool and the xBloom reusable dripper (OR the optional filter shaping cup)
  • Twist the shaping tool as you press the dry filter down to flatten the sides
  • Add about 1ml water to the center of the filter shaping tool (you don't need much!…there is a measuring tool built-in to top of the plunger to help)
  • Insert the plunger in to the center of the shaping tool and quickly press down to push the water into the filter. Pushing faster helps create a finer water spray.
  • Twist the shaping tool again 2 to 3 times to ensure the wet filter is flat
  • Finally, with a twisting motion, remove the shaping tool, leaving the perfectly shaped, flat filter

If you used the filter shaping cup instead of the xBloom reusable dripper, you can now transfer the filter to the dripper OR leave it in the shaping cup so you have a pre-shaped filter ready to go next time you're ready to brew.

Print Instructions

Suggested settings with PLA:

  • 12%+ infill (shown with gyroid fill)
  • 3+ walls/perimeters
  • At least 3 solid bottom/top layers
  • 0.2mm layer height
  • No supports required

For best results, you need to add a food safe silicone o-ring to the plunger to create an air-tight fit. Example: 11mm OD, 7mm ID, 2mm CS available on Amazon.

As shown, printed in PolyTerra PLA at .2mm layer height with Bambu Labs X1C. Total print time for plate of parts ~3.5 hours.

If you don't want to print your own, I've also made these available for purchase on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1496751673/xbloom-filter-shaper
