My idea was to make various ceramics tools based on the needs of the classroom and the teacher.

For all of the ceramics tools, I first did an estimate of what the tools would look like in real life (my estimate was 10 x 10). I sketched out the square on Solidworks, then extruded it with the Boss Extrude Tool. The exception to this was the metal rib as it had a different overall shape than the rest. I used a rectangle before tracing it out. I measured that out to be 10.76 cm (≈4.26 in) by 4.81 cm (≈1.89 in). The radius of the circle was 9.61 mm (≈0.37 in).

I then dragged the image of the tool onto the face of the extruded base and traced it with the line, spline, & arc tools. Also, I traced the outside of the square so I could cut out the background of the picture.

For the picture above, the sketch wasn't functioning in the program at first because the smart dimensions limited its range of movement. I couldn't 'mold' it into the proper shape, so I completely restarted without smart dimensions until the end. I used the ‘trim entities tool to cut off the excess square. The D.B.R. engraved on the design was a personal choice. It stands for “Designs By (my name)”.

For many of the models, filleting & chamfering was a minor issue. I wanted the sides to look just like the pictures I had seen on garritytools.com and in person, but the program had its limitations and I had to work with what I could do.

Here is what the final products looked like on Solidworks:
