This label mount is just that, something to stick a self-adhesive label to a “stock” Bambu reusable spool.  The mount is sized to accept a 2" x 1" [50 x 25mm]  label.  Of course, some slicers now have the ability to add text, so that is an alternate to the the paper label.

Originally I wanted, and actually tried a press-in attachment, but the small holes (.078”) in the Bambu spools meant small protrusions, which proved to be fragile.  I considered drilling out the holes to a larger diameter, but there really is not a lot of material in-between the holes, so I decided to just use the protrusions as locating pins, and affix the label mount with a 7/8” [22.2mm] diameter “restickable” adhesive dot (https://a.co/d/5kJkOGv).  The dots stick so well that I had to add small notches on each end of the mount so you can get a finger hold for removing the mount (could also use a small screwdriver).

If you use a filament dryer, you may want to remove the label mount before drying.  Even at 40C, the dryer may be too hot for the dots.

I added a split face feature to the model which will allow the border to be “painted” using the triangles option (tedious, but it gets the job done). I find that having the border makes it easy to center the label.  I printed the mount face down, with PLA at .16mm layer height.
