On the Gaggia Classic there's a slight gap between the top of the water tank and the machine body I found a bit annoying after installing an LED above the tank. Every time I would bend down to watch my sweet shots I would momentarily get blinded by the LED. Fortunately the water tank is slightly tinted, so using this riser to close the gap alleviated this massive inconvenience.

This may also help reduce the amount of espresso that ends up in your triple-RO-filtered, vacuum-remineralized, NIST-calibrated water on those occasional shots that spray a bit.

To install insert your water tank first and then slide in the riser. The back of the riser is intended to contact the front of the sheet metal lip protruding from the back wall.

The riser is designed to be removed and installed in machines with the Gagguino 3D printed scales without having to remove the scales, but would work fine on machines without them as well.
