[WARNING: when using the clamp, make sure every screw is as tight as possible].

v2.0 Update:

  • the bottom part now uses an M3 Nut instead of cutting its own threads, which is better for longevity.
  • all top bits now have a 90 degree cutout for corner clamping
  • all step files (besides the custom top file) now are consolidated into one file.

Known Issues:

  1. There is a good amount of flex in the clamps (though this is mostly due to the clamps plastic).
  2. The dove tail head has the chance of sliding out if all clamps are parallel (could be fixed with a different dove tail design).

Have you ever seen the Carbide 3D Tiger Claw CNC Clamps? You Probably noticed that they cost $70 for 2 clamps, or $130 for 4, Not cheap by any means. So I decided to make my own. I recommend Printing in PETG, as even with low infill they are super strong. Some Support Required, I would suggest using Prusa slicers paint on support. I would Love some Feedback, so be sure to comment and share your makes.

All you need is the Following (amounts shown are for 4 clamps):

  • 4x 16mm M3 Screws (to connect the Upper and Lower parts, counter sunk is better but not required).
  • 4x M3 Nuts
  • 4x 15mm M6 Screws (to connect the clamp to your work surface).
  • 4x M6 Washers.

How it Works:

It works like any other CNC Clamp, Except that after tightening the M6 Screw, you tighten the M3 Screw to start applying some extra clamping force, and more importantly, applying downward pressure (which in theory, should keep your work piece from moving).

you'll also notice that on the top piece of the clamp there is a little corner for clamping thinner material, (e.g, thin plywood, sheet acrylic, sheet metal, clad plate, ect).
