So, having bought myself a heated filament clamp for “welding” filament scrap together, or joining short rolls, I found a problem immediately.

The instructions seem to assume the existence of a third hand, or second person to be able to hold in the required number of places while still operating the clamp itself.  So I fixed it.

Some parts are remixed from the ultimate filament spool clip, because I needed something to hold the filament securely, but not too tightly.  Ultimate Filament Clip Clamp by jajaum3d - Thingiverse

I suppose it would be better to say that I attached two of those clips to my design inverted and fixed in place.

The recessed portion in the base is designed to fit snugly with the following welding clamp: 1.75mm 3D Printer Filament Connector Gen2 3D Printer Accessories Easy Operate for Filament 1.75mm PLA / ABS / PC / PETG / TPU Material : Amazon.ca: Industrial & Scientific

The base has recessed indents for 6mm rubber feet: ROCHU Self-Adhesive Clear Rubber Feet Tiny Bumper Clear Feet Pads Clear Pads Funitures Clear Rubber Feet : Amazon.ca: Tools & Home Improvement

Support required:
- for the “clip”, use normal support otherwise the clip portion sags.
- for the “base” use tree support or the upper supports do not print correctly.
- the pins and bolts are print in place.

Printed on an Ender 3 S1 Pro, 0.2mm resolution, gratkit PLA filament.
