I made this to allow for a lightweight camera (gopro, m50 etc) to spin around with the help of a stepper motor with a 5mm shaft.
You will need the following:
- Filament (PETG if used outdoors, PLA might be fine especially if only used occasionally)
- M3 bolt (14mm or longer to lock the shaft)
- ¼-20 Heat Insert
- Soldering Iron (preferably with a ¼-20 tip, preferably mounted)
There are 2 different series, one for inserts that require an 8mm hole and one for inserts that require a 9mm hole. There are 3 different variants, one for stepper motors with round shafts, one for D-shaped ones and one for D-shaped ones that start half-way up.
I have tested it with 3 different types of heat inserts and all work great.
PS. The weight of the equipment will be on the shaft, so use heavier equipment at your own risk.
