English
Small garden wind turbine that I designed for decoration.
You will need a 10mm aluminum tube for the tail. (for the length, cut it long enough, fix the tail and test the balance of the wind turbine, cut as you go to have a good balance. )
2. A 608 bearing, preferably s6082RS, ie the “s” means a stainless steel bearing and “2RS” for 2 ptfe shields for sealing against water and dust splashes. You can use a normal 608 bearing but it will not withstand the weather.
3. An M8 stainless steel threaded rod to be cut by yourself to the desired length to pass through the 608 bearing (the bearing is just put tight in the rotor, no glue to be able to change it later when it is hs)
4. Two M8 stainless steel nuts to fix the rotor on the threaded rod
5. Optional, an 8mm grower washer to prevent the threaded rod from loosening from the body.
6. A m3x25 stainless steel screw for the needle screw on top of the body
7. A 10mm stainless steel ball bearing
8. Twelve M3x10 stainless steel screws to fix the blades
9. Twelve M3 stainless steel nuts to fix the blades.
In the back of the body of the wind turbine, I planned a hole of +-10mm to put the 10mm tube of the tail stick with a little glue.
A 6.75mm hole on the front to make an M8 thread with a tap.
There is a small hole on the top, it is to make an M3 thread, to put in it a stainless steel screw M3x25 ground to a point, like a punch.
On the underside of the body, for the vertical axis, I planned to put the wind turbine on an aluminum axis of 10mm over 1m50 with a 10mm ball placed in the body of the wind turbine before placing it on its axis, the 10mm aluminum rod.
In this way, for the vertical axis, no need for a bearing, it is the M3 stainless steel needle screw which crosses the body, not the top, which will turn on the stainless steel balls, so needle on the ball, well it turns well and it will go very well for a very long time, much longer than a bearing and cheaper!!!
I printed everything in abs, abs accepts more or less to be threaded, consider using 3-pass taps.
Personally, I painted it with a cheap matt white spray from Action, this will make it last longer.
Hope this is detailed enough, also no leave a comment. ;-)
