Printing Instructions
There are FDM and resin versions of the doors, the resin versions already have the beams integrated.
FDM printing
If you’re printing the hinged door with FDM, make sure that your extrusion width is set to exactly 0.4mm. Anything higher can make the hinges become too thin because a single shell is printed instead of two. This will cause the hinges to break very easily.
Great quality settings
| Layer Height | 0.1mm |
| Perimeters/Walls | 2 |
| Infill | 20% |
| Infill Pattern | Rectilinear |
| Perimeter/Walls Speed | 50% of normal |
Print inner walls first:
| In PrusaSlicer | External Perimeters First - Off |
| In Simplify3D | Outline Direction - Inside-Out |
| In IdeaMaker | Shell and Infill Order - Inner Shell > Outer Shell > Infill |
| In Cura 4 | Walls - Outer Before Inner Walls - Off |
| In Cura 5 | Walls - Wall Ordering - Inside To Outside |
Combine Infill Layers:
| In PrusaSlicer | Combine Infill Every - 2 layers |
| In Simplify3D | Combine Infill Every - 2 layers |
| In IdeaMaker | Combine Infill Layers - 2 |
| In Cura 4 & 5 | Infill - Infill Layer Thickness - 0.2mm |
Normal quality settings
| Layer Height | 0.2mm |
| Perimeters/Walls | 2 |
| Infill | 20% |
| Infill Pattern | Rectilinear |
| Perimeter/Walls Speed | 100% of normal |
Print inner walls first:
| In PrusaSlicer | External Perimeters First - Off |
| In Simplify3D | Outline Direction - Inside-Out |
| In IdeaMaker | Shell and Infill Order - Inner Shell > Outer Shell > Infill |
| In Cura 4 | Walls - Outer Before Inner Walls - Off |
| In Cura 5 | Walls - Wall Ordering - Inside To Outside |
Beams
These are only needed if you print doors with FDM printers.
Beams should printed with FDM.
The resin version of the doors already have the beams integrated.
The same settings as for tiles apply, with the exception of these:
| Perimeters/Walls | 6 |
I recommend printing a single beam first and checking the resulting thickness.
It should be around 1.63mm.
If you don't have a caliper to measure this, you can try sliding a beam into the slots of the tiles. The beam should easily slide in and out without noticeable friction, but also not wobble around too much.
Tweaking the Z distance on your printer or the Z offset in your slicer will allow you to dial in the perfect thickness of the beams.
Resin printing
Ensure you're not overexposing the models. Try one wall and measure the thickness of the beam. It should be around 1.64mm.
If you don't have a caliper to measure this, you can try sliding the wall into the slots of the tiles. The door should easily slide in and out without noticeable friction, but also not wobble around too much.
- Print straight without angling, just as they are imported. This allows for printing many at once.
- No hollowing.
- Unless there's obvious overhangs (like the open doors), only thin supports are needed on the bottom of the beam and the flat bottom surface.
