I came up with a mechanism that adds spacers underneath floors and terrain in order to create any type of level differences. It takes the same bottom shape as the existing floors, but they need to be cut a little bit smaller on the sides in order to not push the walls out.

Floors and terrain now have elevated counterparts for this purpose in the private file area. You can use those on the base level also, there will just be more tile shining through around the edges.

I also designed a stability joint that you can use to create a stronger connection between the spacers and your tiles. The little tabs on the tiles were designed for aligning the floors, and are often not strong enough to keep higher spacers firmly in place. The stability joint helps with that. You can also use this joint to connect spacers together and go really high!

Printing Instructions

Floors are designed to be printed both with FDM and resin printer. You'll have some scuffing at the bottom of the terrain with most resins, but this is hidden and shouldn't impact gameplay.

For best results, use height range modifiers or printing processes.

From 0.0mm to 2.6mm:

Layer Height0.2mm

From 2.6mm to top:

Layer Height0.1mm

Resin printing

Ensure you're not overexposing the models or it will be very hard to fit the terrain onto the tile's alignment features.

Print vertically but with one corner all the way at the bottom (rotate 90° on the Y axis and 45° on the X axis). This allows for printing many at once.

No hollowing.
