Beams
These are only needed if you print walls with FDM printers.
Beams should printed with FDM.
The resin version of walls already have the beams integrated.
The same settings as for tiles apply, with the exception of these:
| Perimeters/Walls | 6 |
I recommend printing a single beam first and checking the resulting thickness.
It should be around 1.63mm.
If you don't have a caliper to measure this, you can try sliding a beam into the slots of the tiles. The beam should easily slide in and out without noticeable friction, but also not wobble around too much.
Tweaking the Z distance on your printer or the Z offset in your slicer will allow you to dial in the perfect thickness of the beams.
Resin printing
Ensure you're not overexposing the models. Try one wall and measure the thickness of the beam. It should be around 1.64mm.
If you don't have a caliper to measure this, you can try sliding the wall into the slots of the tiles. The wall should easily slide in and out without noticeable friction, but also not wobble around too much.
- Print straight without angling, just as they are imported. This allows for printing many at once.
- No hollowing.
- Unless there's obvious overhangs, only thin supports are needed on the bottom of the beam and the flat bottom surface.
