I had to replace a number of halogen cabinet lights, that was recessed 4-5mm into a shelf, and the existing ones had the wire hidden inside a drilled hole in the shelf.
As IKEA Mittled is larger, I had to construct a mounting ring, that was a bit higher (also to hide some of the cable in the old hole), and a support for the mounting screws, so I didn't have to destroy the finish on the shelf if I at a later time find some other spots, that can fit the existing holes..
I printed with layer height 0.2, 5 top/bottom layers, 3 perimeters and 20% infill (using PETG), which then was sanded, given primer/filler, sanded again - and then some spray paint (almost) matching the color of the original mounting ring.
