This case is designed to hold a Pi-4 with PoE+ Hat and a standard 2.5” SATA SSD. Sometimes it’s useful to be able to boot your Pi from a SSD rather than an SD card. I’ve previously created a headless version but this one exposes the HDMI and audio sockets.

Attach the PoE+ Hat to the Pi-4 using the provided screws and spacers. The Pi will then sit in the case beside the SSD. They are both a snug fit and may need to be pressed in.

Note that the USB power socket is covered. I did this deliberately as it is recommended that you don’t power the Pi from USB when a PoE hat is attached. As per their spec sheet:

When the Raspberry Pi PoE+ HAT is connected to your Raspberry Pi, your Raspberry Pi should only be powered through the ethernet cable. Do not use any additional method to power the Raspberry Pi

If you have some clear 1.75mm filament, you can add a couple of light pipes to extend the LED’s to the outside of the case.

Then the lid just clips on top. No screws required.

A SATA to USB3 cable connects the SSD to the Pi. The one I’m using here is from Startech, but there are plenty of others. Check out this page for tested adapters.
