Use an old Ender 3 X axis carriage and a piece of 2020 extrusion to make a heat-set insert press. Uses the common 898D style soldering iron with a heat-set insert tip (depending on the size of your inserts, obviously), makes it much easier to install inserts straight!
If you don't have a part to recycle, the x carriages can be obtained from e.g. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001315276573.html or similar, and 2020 extrusion is common.
I used a slightly motley assortment of 2020 hammer nuts and other fastenings to attach everything, and screwed the base part into a piece of 15mm MDF, with a corner bracket to get everything solid, it's a kind of ‘use what you have’ build! If you're anything like me you'll have the spare bits you need.
