I sometime like to take the effort to paint my 3D prints. To avoid getting finger smudges on your paint job, it can be helpful to mount the print on a handle first. I like to use cheap wooden dowels that I mount onto my prints using mounting putty. It only covers up a small area of my print, allows me to hold it at a distance and are easily sourced from any hardware store.

This stand was designed to mount a wooden dowel vertical to allow a printed part to dry. It has interchangeable mounts to support different size dowels and large flat feet to maintain balance. If you need more support, you can use blue painters tape to tape down the feet to what ever surface it is sitting on.
