When I logged on to Printables today I saw the contest and in the middle of a social studies class designed these in tinkercad. I haven't printed them yet but probably will today, at least one of them (the shorter one). The designs are exactly the same but one is just longer.
Specs
Longer holder
-48 Hexagons
-3 inch stakes with square bases towards the top for support
-Hexagon length is 15 ¼ inches plus about 3 inches of stake
-probably more difficult to print in one piece given the total length/height of about 18 inches
Shorter holder
-24 hexagons
-3 inch stakes with square bases towards top for support
-Hexagon length is 8 inches plus about 3 inches of stake
-Probably easier to print given smaller height/length of about 11 inches
Will post images of prints if i print it
Probably needs supports for stakes laying down and definitely if printed standing up
