An early exploration of parts trays after seeing a few other options around. These divided trays are nice and small and a little cabinet lets you stack them. The basic shape originated with others who were making miniature cabinets of trays of various sizes and functions. It began from remixing one of the trays from Thingiverse's @wkarraker - a 12-bin tray to get started.
That design had a different approach than I desired for my application, and had some manifold issues, and a few wayward faces so I fixed those, thickened the base, changed handle design and orientation and designed some latching spots for a lid, and then came up with a lid and the stacking-carcass/cabinet from scratch.
A nod also to @FatalError3141 whose trays and cabinets were a source of additional inspiration, though no files loaded. I've changed various elements of those designs but seeing other ideas is always a good starting place.
Notes:
Keeping the resolution low with an easy printing style. The through holes are small so supports haven't been necessary.
NOTE ALSO: Later explorations of small parts trays lead me to design the SDOT or “stackable desktop organizer trays” set which I've found very useful.
