I have a bunch of fishing reels that I have to strip and replace the line on, and I thought that there had to be a better way of doing it than by hand.

This model has three parts--a cone, a removable base plate, and a shaft. The shaft is tight, but should press fit into the cone. I used a regular drill motor and an impact driver on it, and it worked fine with both. The drill motor allowed me to adjust the tension on it so it didn't shoot the reel across the room.

Print setting aren't too important, but I did print the shaft at 100% infill and laying down. The other two are pretty self explanatory how to print.

To use it, chuck the shaft in your drill motor. There are two holes in the cone--feed the end of your line through one of those, and hold it while you start winding. It'll hold itself after a second or two. Wind the line all the way off your reel and onto the cone. Once your line is off, remove the base plate and the whole wad of line will come off. Easy peasy.
