I made this Gridfinity baseplate so I could organize small parts with Akro-Mils bins on louver panels.  The baseplate sits inside a model 30237 bin:

Which you can find for sale in many places.

I find the 30237 to be a very convenient size for small parts storage, but because it is an injection molded part, the draft angle makes the bottom slightly too narrow to accommodate a 3x4 Gridfinity plate.  For this reason, the baseplate has a riser component that lifts the grid just high enough to fit.  The part is designed to be secured in the bin with an interference fit.

The baseplate comes in two parts that must be glued together.   This is done for two reasons:

  1. The space under the baseplate has a single large chamber and works as storage for large or odd-sized parts.
  2. No support is needed to print either half, although you can combine the halves and print as one part requiring support.

I recommend a good cyanoacrylate glue like Loctite 454 for adhering the halves together.
