This is a pair of replacement hinge posts (upper and lower) for a glass bath screen, complete with a fully parametric OpenSCAD script so that it can be tailored in case the design suits other models.
The lower hinge post broke when the screen was accidentally forced past its ‘fully open’ position, so I set out to make a replacement that was stronger than the original, whilst looking identical once fitted. My replacement is therefore designed to be solid, rather than hollow, and does not include the two holes in the original that serve no functional purpose.
The upper hinge post on my bath screen is the same design as the lower post, differing only in the height of the main body, so I was able to generate both posts by changing only the ‘bracket_height’ parameter. The script includes many other parameters that can be used to change the overall shape and size of the hinge post to suit other models of bath screen.
I printed mine in Overture white ABS, with 100% infill for maximum strength. I used the 0.20mm STRUCTURAL profile on my Prusa MK4, with Input Shaping. I used ‘smart fill’ paint on supports for the underside of the screw recess.
