| BASIC DESCRIPTION |

• small containers for 3d printed resources (separate models) with a notch to firmly secure the lid

• the lid is also used as an indicator of a resource (color and shape)

• can be printed on a single extruder 3D printers using manual color change

• made to fit the standard hexagonal sized field (so that it can be stationed on the playing board - here I am using my own custom modeled interlocking base tiles)

| DESIGN DECISIONS |

• the boxes have a simple extruded hexagonal design with easy to distinguish pictograms of the basic resources in Catan

• designed so that it can be printed in colors on a single extruder setups (using manual color change) - the files with manual color change enabled are included (3mf files)

• the lid has the pictogram on both sides and the base of the container has a notch so that the lid can slide into the base of the box indicating to the players what type of resource is in the box

• the containers can also be stationed on the board (they fit in a standard empty base tile)

| PRINT SETTINGS |

• usually I do not like to include 3mf or GCODE files because I do not know what kind of printer/filament/general setup do you use, SO BE CAREFUL WHEN USING THIS 3MF FILE - CHECK WITH YOUR OWN SETTINGS SO YOU DON'T BREAK ANYTHING ON YOUR MACHINE!

• no supports are needed

• You can use manual color change options to print in multicolor on a single extruder printer

• General settings:

  • 0,10 - 0,20 mm layer height

  • 5% Cubic infill

  • brim (if you think you need it)

  • 3 perimeters

| UPDATES |

• 22.09.2026. added stl-s Resource box_lid_blank, Resource box_icon_brick, Resource box_icon_ore, Resource box_icon_sheep, Resource box_icon_wheat and Resource box_icon_wood. This enables for printing the lid flat on the bed with multicolor printers (add the resource icon as modifier to the blank lid). Also, the stl-s of the resources are now available for people who want to use them for other projects.
