Just for the fun I calculated, by Finite Element Method, the maximum weight the hanger could take if printed with 100% infill and using Prusament PETG. I have used the Prusa Technical Data sheet which indicates a Tensile Yield Strength [MPa] = 46 MPa

Force

[Newton]

Max Stress Peak

[MPa]

Max Displacement

[mm]

In theory the hanger could take up to 15 Kilograms before permanent deformation occurs. However the Prusa data was extracted from a tensile test with the force perfectly aligned with the printing lines, such as this:

Whereas on the hanger the printed lines are bent, because the snake geometry. I would say that by applying a 30% reduction margin, because the geometrical differences, the snake could take easily up to 10 Kg. I will do the real life load test with water 1L bottles when I find the time and post here!
