I'm exceptionally lazy and got tired of sanding by hand, so I made this attachment to turn my hand drill into a rotary sander. This print simply clamps a piece of sandpaper onto a 3d printed part attached to a drill bit.

You will need:
1. Sand paper cut to size. I found it works best to have it slightly smaller than able to wrap flat across the bottom up to the threading on the sanding piece that connects to the drill bit.

2. A hand drill

3. a 1/4in drill bit that you don't care about anymore. Most Philips head drill bits wear out eventually. This is what I am using here.  Hammer it into the hole till it touches the bottom.

Have fun!

Note: Drill in reverse since the threading is right hand the clamp will come undone if you drill forward. I used PLA here, not sure how long it will last, but got my project finished up. (sanding some wood PLA for staining). I printed the parts with 4 walls, 20% infill except for the threaded part that attaches to the drill I used a modifier cube to print that at 100% infill just for an overabundance of caution.
