I am using an IKEA Förnuftig filter in the back wall of my Ikea Lack enclosure to help clean and cycle the air between the two chambers. As the filter mount I am using has a bit of depth to it, I wanted to frame the thing nicely. So, I made these to help improve the look of the thing. They have a recessed m4 nut that matches up with the bolt from the filter mount. In all this adds a little bit of stiffness to the overall wall, but is mainly there for looks.
I printed this in Overture's matte black PLA, 20% honeycomb infill, and 4 perimeters… both for strength, and because the matte finish looks great against the weave pattern of the wall panel.
I put all 6 of the parts in the STL. You will need to break the STL into objects and then re-arrange them to fit on your build plate.
When installing, you'll want to use many clamps to hold everything in place while you drill the pilot holes and get everything lined up. I recommend making the holes in the back panel a few mm wider than the hardware you are planning to use. This will give you a little room to move things around during assembly without getting everything out of alignment.
This is part of a larger Lack Enclosure build collection that will be published soon.
Enjoy!
