Certain cartridges require the tonearm on a record player to be raised up such that it is parallel or just beyond parallel to the record, and the back of the cartridge does not drag on the record. The commercially available models are either very cumbersome and ugly or over-engineered and expensive. This model is designed to raise the tonearm by 6mm while perfectly integrating with the factory mounting plate such that it doesn't look modified.
