This is a replacement part for the tentioning part of the popular D'Addario guitar tuner. I Hope to help all you guitarists and bassists out there who have a broken tuner lying around.

I did lots of tests with different materials, nozzles and settings for this part because the geometry limits print orientation and overall size. Thanks to the findings by CNCKitchen's Stefan regarding layer bonding and material strength of different colors, I settled with these print settings:

Printing:

PETG Clear or white (strongest alternative to clear)

0.1 mm layerheight

100 % infill

20 mm/s all speeds

30 % cooling, 50% for bridges

printing temperature: as hot, as you get good results, in my case: 230°C

organic supports

0,15 mm support z offset

Assembly:

Be careful to not break the part when removing the supports, they are strong and stuck on quite well.

Heatshrink tube for better grip (arguably) and protection of the guitars surface.

Disclaimer:

I can't guarantee that the part is equally as strong as the original. I didn't want to break the intact one just for reference… This is just the strongest result I could achieve with FDM printing with the Materials: PLA, PETG, ASA, Greentech Pro (PLA pro) and it has worked quite well so far.
