There isn't anything functionally wrong with the Safety Switch on the MK4
it is nicely recessed and doesn't accidentally get pressed. So you can ignore it if you don't want to use it.
However, I found that it would complicate assembling/disassembling the blaster for tuning experiments.
This Safety Delete comes in 2 halves that just snap into the shells and stay out of the way.
