The Duco ventilation remote originally comes with a Niko frame, which didn't integrate well with the Gira system 55 modular system. To address this, I created a new baseplate and cover to fit within my dual E2-style frame.
Mounting
- Carefully remove the original black Niko baseplate from the remote.
- Place the remote into the new baseplate, ensuring a secure fit.
- Mount the baseplate securely on the wall at the desired location.
- Position the Gira frame over the mounted baseplate.
- Press-fit the cover part firmly in place to complete the installation.
- The Gira frame is clamped between the base plate and the lid.
The baseplate is designed to fit on round European back boxes and for easy battery replacement, I added a hole in the back of it.
Printing information
The parts were 3D printed with a layer height of 0.2 using PLA on an Ender 3 Pro printer with 100% infill. The parts were oriented facing down, eliminating the need for additional supports.
