Parts
- these Rings (16 LED version) (AliExpress)
- ESP8266 (I used this one)
- Some filament (surprise!)
Technical Requirements
- Home Assistant
- Moonraker for Home Assistant
- ESPHome
- Moonraker with Klipper
Printing
I've printed these parts with white PLA. You have to print every part twice.
Setup
Connect the Neopixel rings to each other and then to the female side of the connector to the ESP.
White → GND
Green → RX (yes, RX)
Red → VN (5v)
Software
The ESPHome config is located in the progress-config.txt. You'll have to adjust some things in there.
[... snip ...]
sensor:
- platform: homeassistant
entity_id: sensor.neptune_4_progress # Change this to your Moonraker sensor
id: n4_progress
- platform: homeassistant
entity_id: sensor.genius_progress # Here as well (to the sensor of the 2nd Printer)
id: ag_progress
After that, flash the software onto your ESP. Then, in Home Assistant, you can turn these Lights on and set their color and if you want to see the progress, activate the “Progress” effect.
