So, I have Carcassonne board game (Big Box version, which is base game and most of small expansions), which came in nice, big box and okay-ish slots for organizing… Well, most stuff.. And absolutely no room for any seperately-bought expansions.
So, I kept exterior of box and re-made entire interior, using already existing models where appropiate and making my own ones where no fitting ones existed.
If you only own basic version with small cardboard box.. Well, I have bad news. You're gonna need bigger cardboard box, sorry!
My box interior consists of four major parts:
- Card Holders (Right)
- Pieces Organizer (Left)
- Player Meeples organizer (Top middle)
- Tiles Grid (Top left)
Let's start with only fully custom one,
Card Holders.
- Provides neat storage for cards,
- Labeled to easily identify each addon.
- Labels included as printable sheet, just print to A4 paper, cut to size and insert!
- NOTE: I numbered each addon, this may or may not entirely correspond to “official” addon numbering scheme. Feel free to change, Excel sheet provided.
- Comes in different sizes to ensure only correct number of cards fit in.
- Too much empty space remain? You're missing a card!
- A card no longer fits in? You've likely mixed cards from different addons!
- NOTE: I suspect there may be manufacturing variances with card thicknesses, therefore parametric Fusion 360 file provided if you've got card of different thickness than 2.13mm (avg)
- Comes with simple rack (with dividers) to neatly hold Card Holders in place. Neat, huh?
(Rack split into two to fit on Ender 3's build plate. Usage of hot glue or similar recommended)
Pieces Organizer
As boxes I used awesome Small Storage System by CaptainObvious.
(More specificly, Bin_38x76_SlideTop.stl and matching cover.)
Rack for these is provided by me.
For labels I used printable A4 sticker sheet and cut to size. Label maker should work equally well, though.
Player Meeples Organizer
Pretty much same as above, but I added color change to bins mid-printing to indicate color of meeples inside. Organizer also provided.
Tiles Grid
I tried several variants but found that timqui's Tiles Grid just worked best for me.
Holder for grids provided. Base of holder douples as a dice storage. Just hot-glued to bottom of box.
Other random stuff I have
Most of these are just random ideas, some more, some less usefull than others.
- Collapsable Dice Tower by FlyboyEUC. Honestly, this is quite overkill but.. Why not?
- Giant Meeple by Karel ("Meeple" scaled about 300-350%) to subtly hint whose turn it is again. Or as reminder whose turn it was before a break.
